I am still obligated to IRR until 2020. I completed BCT and I am MOS qualified after completing AIT as well. I attended every drill weekend, every annual training and was also activated in response to both Hurricane Sandy and Irene. If so that may be why you aren’t listed as prior service. You are still serving until 2020 Response by SSG Carlos Madden made May 17 at 2018 2:02 PM 2018-05-17T14:02:06-04:00 2018-05-17T14:02:06-04:00 Capt Daniel Goodman 3636652 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>That&#39;s an interesting question, one of the pastors at our pentecostal church was NY ARNG, drills, DD214, all of it, and he can&#39;t get VA benefits, I checked, there&#39;s some weird provision that since he was never actually activated, or paid with Federal money, supposedly, that Natl Guard even if one drills, and he did during Vietnam, tough he was never deployed, can&#39;t apparently submit for VA benefits, I&#39;ve been trying to wrap my head around that one now for quite awhile...I have a friend who was USNR, incl after 9/11, he wasn&#39;t activated per se nor deployed, so he can&#39;t get VA benefits either, and he got out of USNR as an O-4, I can&#39;t figure that one out either...I was USAF IRR, I do know my IRR time didn&#39;t could, as I&#39;d never joined a Guard or Reserve unit before my total perm disability, that I do kmow is true, my IRR time didn&#39;t count, that I was sure of, honest, hope that helps somewhat.... Doesn’t matter at end of day MEPS will correct it if it’s wrong Response by SFC Private RallyPoint Member made May 17 at 2018 7:00 PM 2018-05-17T19:00:31-04:00 2018-05-17T19:00:31-04:00 Capt Daniel Goodman 4830738 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>The thing that confuses me, is, if you were listed as ARNG IRR, you must&#39;ve gone through all the training for ARNG to begin with, obv...that being said, I&#39;d quite honestly ask the local mil/vet staffs for all three Congress ofcs by you, send them Privacy Act (PA) forms, they&#39;ll need those by law to help you, then send them the whole thing, and let them do an inquiry, they can&#39;t fix your stuff, though they can obv at least try to help you get to the ones who can answer your whole thing in Army...also, do an eVetRecs request to NPRC online, get the printout with the file number for the submit, sign and date it, fax it back, ask the Congress staffs to get you a call back from the NPRC director&#39;s ofcs, call 86-NARA-NARA, look up the NARA leadership page, you&#39;ll see the NPRC director listed, they might be able to transfer you to NPRC to the director&#39;s staff directly, get all your stuff, admin/personnel, as well as med/dental, also, ask for both, then send all of it to all the Congress mil/vet staffs, so they&#39;d at least have all that, as well, to document the whole thing, and ask the NPRC director&#39;s staff to query Army and/or ARNG or NGB about why you&#39;re not listed, if you wanna chat more, just lemme know, no rush, whenever you&#39;d want, OK?
