Why are EDRE's only conducted during weekends?

First off, I'm not complaining nor ranting about having it on the weekends.

Im just curious with why EDRE is only conducted during the weekends.
Is there like a reason/regulations? Or its just up to the commander?

7th ID, 82nd, heck even way back in the 80's in 8th Div.....we had EDRE's on weekdays, weekends, just about anytime other than Holidays or block leave

Conducting an EDRE on a duty day when everyone was already scheduled to be there does not test the unit's ability to recall 100% of their Soldiers.

Because if you want to see just how ready a unit is for rapid deployment, you pick a time when people will generally not be in the office, motor pool, or engaged in training. You want everyone "out of pocket." You want to see how long it takes to get everyone notified, into the office, and ready to roll.

BS, I have had them at all times of the week. A lot will depend on level Command called out, how much is the other services going to support it- and where are they going to send you? 75+% of our EDRE's were out of area/state training sites. Recalls are at the Cdr's call, that is not an Emergency Deployment Readiness Exercise. For recall any inconvenient time is good to ensure you are where you need to be.
