Why Are Military Bases and closed Military Bases being used to house illegal alien invaders?

The housing of children, as opposed to the label of "illegal alien invaders", was a humanitarian decison only. The law, regarding managing those found entering the country illegally, is fairly detailed and to go into too much detail here would require a lot more space than available. However, it isn't the law that was the problem - it was the huge numbers of children that showed up and were rounded up on the U.S. side of the border. 10's of thousands and more on the way. The option: send them back to the desert in heat greater than 100 degrees without any food or water OR house them temporarily in available unused buildings (military barracks). The numbers of children simply overwhelmed the ability of the system in place to manage. The children were processed as quickly as possible - some deported, some placed in other facilities, etc.

While I can appreciate how such an act might anger some - I happen to agree with the government's decision. The children in question are children - not adults.

Agreed. The taxpayers bought those bases to house US service members, not foreigners being held there until the most expedient moment to release them into society. In my opinion, it's illegal, but when the ones supposed to uphold the law are the ones breaking it, good luck with that.
I have little sympathy for someone who has so little respect for our country as to sneak in in the middle of the night, when millions have done it the right way. It angers me seeing the skids greased for people who aren't even citizens, when our own people aren't given the same chance.

I agree. public lands and facilities should be used for the PUBLIC. Citizens come first.
