Why are people posting so many political articles?

This site is meant for service members/veterans connecting and asking experienced members/veterans for advice and information. I get sick of seeing all the back and forth arguing that gets us nowhere because everyone is so entrenched in whatever political views they have. This is the reason I deleted my facebook because I got sick of all the toxicity.

If you want to stay focused on military topics, stay in the Answers forum. You'll see much more political activity on your My Feed section and in the tagged areas.

Off topic- you have the USAF/USMC SSgt as your profile instead of the Army SSG.
On topic - some discussion of politics is healthy as it allows people to learn and grow and see opposing sides of a point. But there's a point when it just becomes bickering and arguing through emotional subjective views rather than discussing objective points.

CW2 (Join to see) I know, I just transferred from the army national guard to the air national guard. I get that but with how polarized/tribal things are, and how delicate things are right now probably not the best time. I just get sick of seeing a wall full of political articles of "my tribe is better than yours"

SSgt (Join to see) I hear ya brother. I'm quite sick of the "if we don't agree then you're Hitler, everyone's a racist/phobic/cancel everything" but 1 Amendment shall always win. I honestly blame social media for most issues gives everyone a voice when their voice doesn't matter and allows idiots to believe article titles without reading them.....
Drive on, be the example of an objective view if you participate, or just move on. It's the best we can all do

“War is simply politics by other means.” ~ Clausewitz
It is actually really great to see our service members starting to become more engaged in the politics of our country. We take an oath to support and defend the US Constitution and yet, how many have read that document?
I think we are in the perfect environment to discuss politics as long as we avoid the toxic partisanship. We all have at LEAST one thing in common with each other, so we should be able to keep discussions and debates civil.
