Why are Reserve Officer promotions taking 18 months? https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/why-are-reserve-officer-promotions-taking-18-months <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Just notified my scroll was signed for promotion to CPT. I&#39;ve been a company commander since March 2016 and my new DOR is this week. The only explanation I have for that 543 day delay is bureaucracy. Anyone have an idea of why reserve officer promotions are taking 18 months? Now officers of all grades must go through the same process (with some added steps for COL and above). Plenty of discussions on here about it. I&#39;m an ARNG officer and I&#39;ve had my state promotion orders for CPT since the middle of April. I&#39;ve been tracking my packet on the ARNG-G1 website and it was awaiting addition to a scroll until a month ago and last week the scroll was ready to start the approval DoD cycle. Thoughts?</p> </div> <div class="clearfix"></div> </div> CW3 Private RallyPoint Member Thu, 31 Aug 2017 21:53:34 -0400 2017-08-31T21:53:34-04:00 Response by CPT Private RallyPoint Member made Aug 31 at 2017 10:26 PM https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/why-are-reserve-officer-promotions-taking-18-months?n=2883353&urlhash=2883353 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Sir I really believe it’s just a way for states to save money. My scroll just got published today after 211 days in the cycle. I lost out on thousands of dollars that I won’t be back paid from a year of SAD.
