Why are there only 16 slots per class for ALC 25U? https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/why-are-there-only-16-slots-per-class-for-alc-25u

I have been promotable since March 2017 and have contacted the school's branch at HRC almost every other week to try and get an ALC class date or see when the next available classes are. Have you confirmed class size or is this all just what someone told you? In the technical MOS, it is typically going to be equipment limitation. As a 25B, when I went to ALC, we were limited to 20 because of the equipment. If we had more than 2 per team and tripled up, then someone would always be left watching rather than doing even in rotations. This reduced the effectiveness of learning and testing out. With the requirements for promotion to have the course, a lot more people will schedule sooner than later so if classes are filled up, you'll probably want to get slotted as soon as the new fiscal year starts, and then once done with ALC, start trying to get SLC scheduled as soon as you can. I had my ALC done as soon as I could after making E5. From the time that I got my promotable status to the time that I went to ALC was almost two years. I have seen that there tends to be a backlog of NCOs that needs to go ALC so you just know that your turn will come. One thing the HRC SGM told us a few months ago was that soldiers could submit a 4187 in order to put you in a “short notice list”. As you probably already know, many soldier end up cancelling their class for some reason or another (emergencies, etc.). When this happens, HRC can start looking for potential soldiers to fill out the class. If this happens you might have only a few days to get ready and report to Fort Gordon.

And to answer your question, the classrooms can only hold so many people. Also know that 25U’s are not the only ones attending NCOES schools and quarters can only hold so many people. You have 25Bs, 25Us, 25C, and all the other Signal MOS in there. Additionally, the SLC students are there too. We were the last class with 32 students. Their funding got cut really bad and that was their excuse which makes sense. It just sucks. If you are close to Augusta or can get your unit to cut you orders they accept walk ons. phase 2 and 3 we were supposed to have 3 people show up for both of them, and no one did. So you can walk on pretty easy. SSG(P) Private RallyPoint Member Thu, 27 Jul 2017 13:23:59 -0400 2017-07-27T13:23:59-04:00 2017-06-30T05:29:41-04:00
