Why are Vietnam War Veterans and Korea War Veterans forgotten ?

I have a friend who volunteer with me that is a Vietnam War veterans. I know he has animosity toward other war veterans because how they are treated way better than other war veterans. I know that most Vietnam War Veterans and Korea War Veterans were forgotten or treated disrespetfully, but i thought everyone has move past this. I do know that there are certain movies that don't portray the Vietnam War in a positve way or hardly any movies about the Korea War beside M*A*S*H. , but American Sniper or The Hurt Locker movies and character are portray in a much more postive way. I also noticed that PTSD, GI Bill and Vetrean Homelessnes has improved more recently because of the new war veterans , but the older war veterans has been having the issues for years. I am not picking sides, but I have noticed that in our society certain war veterans are treated better than othes. This is just my opinion.

i'll say this we were the most underdecorated soldiers,Vietnam 66-67,and I saw very few guys given awards for acts that would get a silver star today. But that is history

You make a very good point, SSG (Join to see). Veterans of Vietnam definitely were not treated well when they returned to the US. I know because I was old enough to see it on TV and I remember. Korean vets ... I'm not sure. But I get your point. For some reason Americans now appreciate the sacrifices of the military, and back then, well, not so much.

My guess is that it may have something to do with the media. We (all military members) are generally portrayed in a positive light in the media today. Whether that's a reflection of society or society reflects what they see in the media, I don't know and it probably doesn't matter. For whatever reason, today's vets get more respect.
