Why can't you Delete your own posts, questions or comments on RallyPoint?

The best you can do if you want to Delete one of your own posts, questions or comments, is (edit) it and erase every word you wrote and just leave a (.) period and than save it. But then you still have a blank post with just a (.) period. This is silly, why can't you just Delete it? I don't see there being any logical explanation for this.

So, from a programming standpoint I understand that if there are replies to a post, then deleting the original post could potentially mess up the database entry on the back end so the entire thread would have to be deleted (including replies). I could see this leading to problems if everyone has access to do this as well depending on how RP is coded.
However, I think that if a post has no replies and you authored it, you should absolutely have access to delete it. Of course, you would also have to get the influence points you received revoked too (obviously).
What do you think admins?

The only thing it messes up is the tabulation of these GODDAMN points. I've told a number of HeadShed boys to get rid of these stupid things. But, noooooo, that would be too smart!!!

SCPO (Join to see) - Haha. Love em or hate em I think the points are here to stay. From a networking standpoint I see them as being an interesting idea.

I was having a problem with someone not liking what I said. I felt like this person was trying to pick a fight with me. I wanted to delete my post. In the end, I just blocked the person.

You can always contact one of the admins and ask us to hide it for you. Admittedly, that's a workaround, but it still accomplishes your goal.

LTC Kevin B. - Thank you so much sir! I messaged you personally, so I can avoid others seeing what I had to say.

Can you delete my old posts besides the two new ones as they no longer pertain to me, sir? Thank you.

SGT (Join to see) - I closed two of them. I left one up because it might provide helpful answers to other soldiers who might find themselves in a similar situation.
