With that being said if I ever have a child and they're in a school district that makes them go to school on Veteran's Day, I will tell them my child will not be attending school on Veteran's Day because him/her will be out honoring the Veterans of the Armed Forces. In AZ my kids have the day off; however, I have a friends in FL and their kids go to school. I used to think every school should take the day off until I heard what they were doing in some districts. The educate the kids on the importance of our Vets and service to your country, then they host parents to an assembly and the Vets are honored at the school. Great teaching moment.
