Why do so many military members support Trump, even after he insulted the family of a Bronze Star winner who died in the line of action?

Probably because out of the two candidates, they agree more with his policies, or disagree with HRC more. It's pretty cut and dry when it comes to who the military supports as a whole. HRC violated major security policies and has a lot of "blood" on her hands as many have claimed. Donald Trump is a patriot and shows great respect for those serving and more specifically, those who HAVE served. His focus is on fixing the VA immediately. Simple choice if you ask me..

Responding back when you are viciously attacked is not in my book insulting anyone. If it was me as a Veteran I would have been a lot more hostile towards Mr. Khan especially the part where he covered up his background online by deleting his website and covering up his real interest in the subject as a Immigration Attorney making money off Immigration.......was that ethical? I think if you check with the State Bar they would say NO. I think if his Son was alive he would be ashamed of his Father.

Possibly because we're too smart to fall into the trap set by the Clinton Campaign, a setup with the "father" baiting Trump with his nonsense. Also, when it comes down to it, we've seen how appeasement and posturing like Hillary's gets more service members killed than when a real leader exudes strength and a total intolerance for tyranny.

Why do so many Americans support Clinton when she is clearly the very definition of a power hungry, do anything to win, pay to play, quid pro quo politician?
I don't support either candidate and am merely playing devil's advocate here.

Let's be realistic they both suck! But in life you have to make decisions even the hard ones. In the past democrat's have never really been good for the military. The Clintons are just bad! Trump is a super smart business man but has a horrible mouth. Let's hope his staff can keep him straight if he wins

If I had to guess, a substantial number of voters are not voting for their candidate. They are voting against the other. This is a truly embarrassing slate of candidates, including the libertarian and green party candidates.

In politics, people like to sensationalize things to their benefit. For example, you chose to highlight that CPT Humayan Khan was a recipient of the Bronze Star (as per the democratic party line). To my knowledge, every service member who has died in combat in Iraq or Afghanistan has been posthumously awarded a Bronze Star for Meritorious Service. It isn't a BSM for valor. So why is it something you want to emphasize? You did it because that's how the Clinton campaign wants to spin it and it makes for more sensational news and great soundbites.

Clinton is using the Khan's for her political gain, and Trump made a tactless statement about how they are playing up his status and actions. Both candidates have handled it poorly, but I find Clinton's actions to be more disagreeable.

More than Likely some of US still remember the way the Clinton Regime acted and conducted Business and the Way the Treated the Military both Professionally and Personally... The only Uniform Bill Clinton wore was a Band Uniform ... and that was about the extent of his knowledge of the workings of the Military... the other reason The family he insulted was being played by HRC and was on their payrolls ... and the Family them selves were playing and taunting the fact of their Son's Death, to their advantage as a a bunch of poor Muslims... who had sacrificed...

Harry, you might want to get yourself informed before you show up and make a complete ass of yourself. First you hit Marine Corp Drill Instructors, then military personal standing for the national anthem, hero worship of the armed forces and now this red herring.

If you were informed you would know the Kahn's were used like click bait on the internet at a political convention. Trump didn't go after them, they went after him in a purely political manner/setting. Captain Kahn's sacrifice stands on it's own. No one (including Trump) said anything about it. This is purely a contrived issue by the democrat party but I am sure you are fully unable to see it that way.

I support Him, for one simple reason. I don't trust the Clinton s, and I don't want them in the White House again as anything but dinner guests.
Trump has a tendency to attack when attacked, as most of us do. He's no politician, and he seldom holds back his thoughts.... reminds me a lot of my father really... loved the man, but he absolutely had no filter between his brain and his mouth. That is probably one of the things about him that I trust... what he thinks, he says... there's no political double-speak, no Political correctness.... he is who and what he is, and I understand that, and trust it a great deal more than I do his opponent.
I honor and respect the Bronze Star Winner, who fought for this country, but that doesn't mean that his father, who came out lambasting Trump for his views of immigrants from Syria, deserves a pass from the man he belittles.... just saying.
