SGT(P) Private RallyPoint Member 6208132 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I notice that some soldiers have the German Armed Forces Proficiency Badge with a chord and some don&#39;t. I have tried to research it but I cannot find a clear answer. I am looking into trying out for the German Armed Forces Proficiency Badge. Why do some soldiers wear the German Armed Forces Proficiency Badge with the chord or with out the chord? 2020-08-15T05:57:53-04:00 SGT(P) Private RallyPoint Member 6208132 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I notice that some soldiers have the German Armed Forces Proficiency Badge with a chord and some don&#39;t. Technically officers can earn them, but they can&#39;t WEAR them (likely because the ASU fit it with the shoulder boards, maybe that will be changed for the pink/green) <div class="pta-link-card answers-template-image type-default"> <div class="pta-link-card-picture"> </div> <div class="pta-link-card-content"> <p class="pta-link-card-title"> <a target="blank" href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/German_Armed_Forces_Badge_of_Marksmanship">German_Armed_Forces_Badge_of_Marksmanship</a> </p> <p class="pta-link-card-description"></p> </div> <div class="clearfix"></div> </div> Response by CPT Private RallyPoint Member made Aug 15 at 2020 10:47 AM 2020-08-15T10:47:38-04:00 2020-08-15T10:47:38-04:00 MSG Private RallyPoint Member 6208963 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>The badge with the chord is the German Armed Forces Badge of Marksmanship or the Schtzenschnur while the one without the chord is the German Armed Forces Proficiency Badge. The first as stated is awarded for Marksmanship with a pistol, rifle and machine gun while the proficiency badge is awarded for completion of a basic fitness test with several events and military training which includes a 100 meter swim for time, first aid, pistol qualification and ruck march for time and distance.
