Why do we get so upset when our candidate is not selected as POTUS?

It's been going on for years. With the US split almost equally, it is a given that someone will be disappointed. The right tolerated 8 years of Obama, and the left survived 4 years of Trump. It all evens out in the long run, so why should we think it's the end of the World? All responses welcomed.

I try to avoid it here since most internet "debates" are like wrestling with a hog. You get muddy and smelly and the hog enjoys it. I only served under one President that voted for, and he was just the better of two evils at the time. If I had that one to do over, I would vote third party.

The only people who thought it was the end of the world Biden won are the people who attacked the Capitol to stop the certification of the EC...ultimately.

Please… think rationally, and clearly. Were any “protestors” on 6 Jan 2021 charged with “treason” or” insurrection” against the United States, or anything for that matter? How about President Trump? ____ I didn’t think so. So now that we established there were no traitors on 6 Jan 2021, what were they. It would probably be good to start with what they were convicted of, only after all appeals are exhausted. MHO

SFC (Join to see) - I assume "Face palm" is a symbol of frustration. I will ask my granddaughter when she gets home from her date later this evening. If it is, I can understand your feelings. I’ve lived 60 some years now growing up in the 60’s dirt poor. I saw the rise of MLK and the fallout from his unjust killing. I could explain other white on white racism I have witnessed and learned about, but to explain it to the degree where you could understand would require hours of speaking together, not a few minutes texting one another. I apologize I digress: I saw society accept MLK’s idea of a colorless society where a person is judged by the content of their character, The vast majority of our society accepted the truth MLK preached and our society got much better for all colors. Not just MHO. Now over the last 15 years or so I see this this truth (that made our society so much better) turned on its head where some people are telling me “I must judge a person by the color of their skin”. I am sorry I can just not accept this.

I learned by experience over my life that enemies of our nation will always use our freedom in an attempt to change our society to defeat us from within; at the end of the day that’s what this is all about. The current Democrat temperament to destroy anything or anyone in the way of the change they want (that's what this question is about); why to the Democrat’s do this? In my opinion their quest to destroy their political enemies and remain in power by changing our nations demographics, they don’t care how, they just believe if they bring people into our Country that sooner or later they, or their children, will vote for them. How does this go together with Black Lives Matter and Antifa? They also want to change our Country. The three organizations (Democrats, Black Lives Matter and Antifa) feed off one another, and when the time comes deep down inside each side believes they will be able to change the others or destroy them to get their way. It’s pretty much that simple. Look at the Marxist theories these three organizations are advancing. Is this an accident? No. Our national enemies to name a couple (but not all) are China and Russia. They advocate to defeat the United States from within. Look at our southern border. Look at the film night after night of thousands flooding across our borders, and then being promptly flown all over our Country. No, I am not crazy, I am just old enough to speak my mind with authority. There is a name for what I outlined above:

Capt Gregory Prickett Exactly, you voted for someone, not against someone.
Maybe not your case, but a lot of people absolve themselves of voting for bad candidates because they voted "against" a particular candidate.

SFC Marc W. - I based it on facts. Trump is a pathological liar. Trump committed documented crimes while in office. Trump was found to be racist decades ago, and never changed. Trump was divisive. Trump was found to have defrauded people with Trump U. Trump was found to have misused charity funds intended for veterans. Trump retaliated against people who disagreed with him. Do you want me to go on?
