Why do we have such a problem with sexual assaults against our Women Warriors? Particularly in the Army, is it because the army is so large?

Can anyone post some legitimate articles on this subject? I want to bring awareness to my community, so they can not judge our veterans both men and women. When this horrible topic is brought to light.

1. Lots of you folks were not raised responsibly , nor respectively.2. Many folks have it drummed into their heads that women in the service are either gay or sluts, because a good woman would have a better job, or home minding kids. 3. Many idiots think that they are easy targets cause they won't tell. It's not only the Army, but we are the largest component. Its Wrong, just damn dead wrong!

What is the basis of your allegation that the Army has an especially high amount of sexual assaults? The most recent article I read from military.com said, "Of the services, the Marine Corps had the worst record of sexual assaults against women, with an incidence rate of nearly 11%, followed by the Navy, 7.5%; the Army, 5.8%; and the Air Force, 4.3%."

If you were raised by my Mom in my family and my community, you wouldn't hardly think of rape or abuse, and you wouldn't do it. We may have been just dumb old Iowa farmers, but we had a quiet, decent way of living. I don't think it is the military or any branch, I think the problem is a lack of respect, a lack of basic human decency, and a self-centered way of looking at the world at the expense of all others. We need less permissiveness and "entitlement" in school, all students are entitled to is a free education. We need more respect and discipline across society and a renewed sense that everyone is valuable, everyone is equal. We need to stop calling each other snowflakes and deplorables (yes, I'm guilty, too).

Remember, most rapists were raised by women. Don't be your kid's buddy, be a mean old parent and teach decency, respect, and honor, or wear out the little shit's behind in the process.

Why do you feel like you need top personally address this to people that might bring it up? I'm not sure who you interact with but no one I know ever brings it up. If they did it should suffice to say the armed forces spends a significant amount of time on SHARP training and the like and that they recruit from the general population of the United States. People in the armed forces are raised in cities and towns across the country like everyone else.

It is very difficult at best to address why an individual might do something such as sexual assault or burglary or armed robbery or murder etc. There is a ton of research and data on this in the armed forces.

I appreciate everyone's comments keep them coming some of you I might come back to asked to be a guest commentator on my radio Broadcast once it's up and running. I would like to hear from more women that are active duty or recently Discharge from any branch of the military I like to get a female perspective on how they view how the military is pursuing this issue.

Our armed services is a reflection of our society, unfortunately our society is derailed due a whole repertoire of factors that will take a Phd level dissertation to just scratch the surface. Then, taking the aforementioned in consideration, the Army, as the largest of the services, has a larger pool of scumbags in it. A very awfully but real situation which we ought to give zero tolerance and do everything within our power get rid of such behavior from our ranks!
