Why do you think Donald Trump will not be a good President?

I'm debating still between Democratic Party or Republican Party. Right now I'm more towards Donald Trump because of the fact that he is different and he makes a lot of good points that I think would make America a better place. We are in debt, we have put ourselves in whole that maybe we need a buisness man to get us out of the huge whole we dug ourselves. There are things I don't agree with him about but what nominee are you going to agree with 100% with what they will do for us.

I think for some of the reasons he would be a bad President are also reasons he would make a good one.

He says what he means and doesn't back down. That's a bad and good reason.

Trump speaks his mind and says what others are afraid to say. I believe that he will put our country and our interest first unlike past presidents. I also appreciate what he says about the military and veterans. From that standpoint alone we will be better off with any Republican. I think Trump will be a great president! Besides, I personally don't trust Hillary one bit. That lady is a snake in the grass that can't keep her lies straight.

I don't think he has a good understanding of the limits of the office. The checks and balances. And what's he going to do when he bumps up against those limits? Insult people? Ignore inconvenient truths? Pretend they're not there? Complain about something being rigged? Not to mention for all his successes, taken with the proverbial grain of salt and not mentioning his failures, he acts like an undiplomatic asshole. Who wants to work with an asshole, other than reluctantly?

Because a majority of his major policies are both ludicrous and would be almost impossible to implement.

Ending birthright citizenship, that's a Constitutional Amendment and the President can't change those.

And this wonderful wall. Beyond being ridiculously expensive, both to build and to maintain, it wouldn't actually stop anyone (most illegal immigrants came on legal visas and then just stayed when they expired). It would also be impossible to build without screwing over countless citizens. Why? Because a majority of our border with Mexico is the Rio Grande river. How are you going to build a wall ON the river. And we can't build the wall on the Mexico side. So we would have to build the wall on our side. A lot of that land that borders the river is owned by private citizens, so you would have to use eminent domain to take part of their land so that this wall can be built, effectively splitting someone's land in two. Guess what, this has already been done in certain places along the border by Obama and it was a miserable failure.

And this wonderful businessman that can get us out of debt, you do realize he has declared bankruptcy FIVE times? So unless you support that financial policy for our country then I doubt that would be a positive.

Hyperbole seems to work for him. Despite some statements that taken out of context are extreme, he does get to the most serious issues with the current administration and the lackeys that follow it.

Because he is a reality TV star. He may have been a businessman at one point in his life, but you could replace him with one of the Kardashian's, and I don't think there would be much difference.

Truth is I don't trust Trump to always act within the constraints of the Constitution. If he chooses his cabinet well he should do alright. All I can say for certain at this point is that I trust a Trump presidency more than a Hilary or B.S. one....

SSG Private RallyPoint Member I think the real question is, would he be a better choice for President than Hillary Clinton? I think the answer to that question is obvious to any clear-thinking individual.

There are very few people in our country who would not be a better President than Hillary, so, to me, it is a no-brainer.

Well, first of all, he's said that the military is a holding-pen for underachievers and idiots (1997), that his experience in a military prep-school was just as hard as any branch of the military (2015), and that if he ordered the military to carpet bomb women and children that we would because he was "in charge" and that's what we are supposed to do."

Secondly, even with the folks on here saying that Trump says the stuff that others are afraid to say - it's true. MOST Americans have risen above racism and sexism - but he's right there to pander to the folks that still believe that any non-White is a second class citizen and that women need to be put back in the kitchen. Yes - others are afraid to say it, because they are intelligent enough to realize that those words SHOULD be political or business suicide - but he's too narcissistic to realize that. And the Trumpets just cheer him on, agreeing that we need to return to the "good old days" when Blacks were officially repressed, women were silent, and gays were targets to be abused without worrying about getting in trouble for it.

Last, because of his comments back in 1997 or so, when he said that he'd love to run for President some day - but he'd run as a Republican, because, "those people are so easy to control."

He's out for himself and NOBODY else. You want an impeachment for breaking the law - elect him - you'll have one before he's in office for six months.

I do not agree with his view on privatized healthcare for military. I do not like his stance of trans people in the bathroom-opens the door, legally for pervs and pedos to go into any restroom and it's already happening.
If he can significantly reduce the national debt, improve homeless, reduce jobless and create good paying jobs, and get rid of all Illegals then those are good starting points. Repeal the anchor baby law and nothing for anyone who is not a legal citizen through the right steps and policy.

My only issue with Donald Trump is I think he is a talker and not a doer. He's charismatic for sure and he knows how to play to a crowd, but I don't think he can do more than that.

Now in his defense, while I do think he's all talk, I do think he's at a unique opportunity to hire the best possible cabinet on his side. He's riled up enough of the anti-political establishment crowd, that if he appoints anyone in his office, they will probably be the best and brightest and not just a career politician.
