Because an 8 year old child hasn't had the priviledge of being jaded by life and practicing cynicism as if it were a necessity like breathing.

SGT - I'm not so sure. From what I've seen, the younger the person, the more self-centered and narcissistic (sp?) they are. I'm thinking more and more that mom raised her kid right.

1SG,

I am certain that his mother had a huge role in raising her son to be the young man that he is today. I have 5 children, 4 sons and a daughter, between the ages of 7 and 14. I have gone to their classrooms several times and have seen a number of very well mannered, patient and caring children. Likewise, I have seen a few that should be immediately sent to behavior camp. I think that the level of self-centered and narcissistic behavior is a direct result of the parenting practiced in the home. With that being said, I do believe that children are naturally born with a kind and gentle heart and it isn't until they are taught otherwise that they begin to display questionable behaviorial patterns.
