Why doesn't emilpo calculate months deployed based on the regulation? 2014-09-02T21:41:10-04:00 SSG Jaimee Morgan 225659

Ex: In the reg. it states

"The months of arrival to, and departure from the areas of operations..."

and then on the CENTCOM page it states,

"The months of arrival and departure from the CENTCOM AO are counted as whole months..."

meaning the month you arrived in theater counts as a whole month and the month you depart counts as a whole month; so my questions are:

Why don't the months add up like this on emilpo?

When you wear your overseas service stripes do you base it off of your ERB or what the reg. states?

Thanks in advance. So he made errors in it on purpose so they would have to retain him to fix them. The CENTCOM portion that you refer to is basically a spin off of the DFAS regulation which entitles you to tax exempt pay for the whole month regardless of how many days there in a combat zone. Your overseas service bars are based off what is on your ERB (provided that it is correct) and not "what the reg states" as you put it.

14 Days or less is not a month
15 Days plus is a whole month as it pertains to NCOERs, service bars etc. Response by 1SG Private RallyPoint Member made Sep 2 at 2014 9:58 PM 2014-09-02T21:58:11-04:00 2014-09-02T21:58:11-04:00 2014-09-02T21:41:10-04:00
