Three things:
1. What makes you think he is not listening to his experts? He always seems to have a solid grasp of the names, numbers, and events going on in the war.
2. The majority of us, twice, elected him to change America's course, especially with regards to the wars. That would require that he have ideas and goals very different from the established military staff. He laid out his vision that was clearly different from the established commanders, and we voted for it.
3. Are you sure you're getting the best and most accurate information, in the proper context? The Right Wing Propaganda Machine is incredibly well funded and has a lot of experience shaping public opinion. A significant percentage of people actually believe that BHO was born in Kenya, is a Muslim, etc. Some folks actually believe BHO is deliberately destroying America, and will soon unleash an ISIS army from Mexico to put us in FEMA camps while the UN takes over. You gotta love the power of propaganda.

" What makes you think he is not listening to his experts".. Capt Greene

You are right he is listening to them but I don't think he is taking their advise...Obama's comments about the War vs ISIS don't track with what CIA Director Brennan or Secretary Clapper said recently about ISIS. FBI Director Comey has expressed concerns about ISIS threats here which were not even discussed by Obama.

If our President is listening; it is going in one ear and out the other IMHO

The country is worried and frustrated at the failures of this Administration and the loss of life that has followed as a result. The Status Quo in Syria will only continue to present more terrorist attacks here. The FBI Director has stated emphatically that his agency cannot track terrorist here and their task is becoming more difficult

Sgt Tom Cunnally - It used to be that body bags arrived by the dozens each week, so the loss of life has improved. The "failures of this Administration" is almost entirely a propaganda ploy. I have a huge list of Obama's successes. He's done much more than I asked of him when I hired him.

what make you think that Obama is not listening. His administration is taking all possible actions which it ought to be taking keeping in view the interests of all Americans.

OMG, another unverified apologist. The Boston bombing, the San Bernedino and Orlando shootings all happened under the current administration's watch. He isn't keeping American citizens safe. Gun culture? Seriously? It takes a person, sick or sane, to pull the trigger. People still have the ability to reason, blaming a gun for a sick persons' actions is intellectually dishonest.

SGT Gregory Lawritson - Thanks for providing this morning's high and low points. I enjoyed reading "his handlers guiding the NWO" and now I'm saddened that people actually believe that stuff. Mostly, I'm impressed by the outstanding genius and dedication of the people who invented the meme and continue to feed this stuff to the Right.

SGT Gregory Lawritson - Fair enough. You asked "How else can you explain what's happening across the globe?" which is an easy enough question but also a lengthy answer, so I'll do everybody a favor and not answer here and now.

You're right; we're each going to stand solidly behind our beliefs and probably pity the other for his. Enjoy the rest of Father's Day.

Why doesn't Obama Listen to Military & National Security Advisors Re: War On ISIS Terrorists??

The POTUS does listen to his advisors. He does listen to the DOD....remember there is two parts to the military....there is the uniformed side (CJCS/JCS) and the civilian side (OSD). The key distinction is DOD vice military.

Yes and I have worked the Syria issue on the Joint Staff, I'm well aware of this issue. Remember, Clauswitz has said War is an extension of politics. DAESH issue is bigger than Syria and you cannot just bomb/kill your way to a political/ideological issue. The CIA director has recently testified that we are making considerable effort in taking back land in Iraq and Syria but it's not affecting the ideology. The disenfranchised lone wolfs will simply find another reason to kill. BL, no silver bullet on this issue and you cannot sound bite this.

Col (Join to see) - Yes Sir but you may have 51 members of the State Dept who don't think enough is being done in Syria. Because they just signed an open letter that disagrees with Obama's policy for Syria. I don't think I have ever seen this done before by the State Dept with so many signatures and I have been around for a lot of years.

Btw have you worked with General Dunford?? We went to the same high school

Col (Join to see) - Thanx Major . Did you know Gen Hoar, Gen Casey, Gen Sheehan and Navy Capt Tom Kelley also went to the same high school? General Dunford mentioned Capt Kelley in his commencement address and wish I has attended that event. I would just like to meet these men & thank them all for their service .

I would like to remind all that our ground troops are not invited. We are there for support and cover.Besides Iraq is actually beginning to Win back their Country. The IraqyArmy, and the Kurds are advancing on all fronts. Why?Warmongering!Once daesh and assad are routed the factions in Iraq and Syria will have to come together for their nations sake.If we send ground forces with out their invitation we risk igniting more violence.Thats why Diplomacy is crucial, not more warmongering.daesh will fall when the 2 countries start to rebuild and offer opportunities to their Citizens. When they can trust their militaries again. When they have Governments that work for the People not against them. When all Factions descide they want Peace not war.The most important pillar of any relationship is trust.

I am not too sure about Diplomacy ?? I don't see warmongering here on RP just some of us questioning Obama's leadership and his commitment to defeat ISSI in Syria when you have some in his administration not in sync with his views on this threat.

And I question those in his administration that seek to undermine a setting President. What are their motives and affiliations. They didn't have to go on fox news to push it.

Obama & CIA are not in sync for the War vs ISIS... Director Brennan probably put his career on the line by telling it like it is about ISIS before Congress. Obama may or may not respond because he refuses to take questions about ISIS

From my vantage we don't have a War Potus like say Roosevelt. The generals were so enamored with COIN that they forgot the military, Iraqi people, and the Iraqi government. It was the blind leading the blind.

I'm not one of those who believes he's trying to destroy America. But I do believe he is trying to dramatically change the United States role in the world. I am definitely disagree with what he wants to do, but there is nothing nefarious or subversive about it.

IMO he thinks America's influence should not come from military or economic might, but from superior intellectual arguments and the moral high ground, as he see them. In his ideal world the Maldives or Thailand should have as much a possibility of being "the world leader" as the United States, China, or Russia.

He doesn't listen, because their advice doesn't lead to his desired end.

Sgt Tom Cunnally People such as ambassadors, cabinet members, other political appointees are at the top of the yes-man food chain and their personal/professional opinions mean nothing. They are expected to provide input only if asked, and then cheerfully implement, preserve, protect, and defend the policy decision made by the In, who listens only to his closest friend and/or ally. POTUS is at the end of his string and can do and say anything with impunity; he can be a political attack dog or institutional liar without fear of any damage to himself. Would that these 50 brave soles had come forward 8 years ago with their objections. Now it is too late for them and US to make a difference. I would hate to be in their shoes between now and Jan 20, 2017.

Could you also ask why former FBI agents appear on national TV and say the FBI has been hamstrung on acting upon or looking for possible problems emanating from Muslims and Mosques?

He may have to after getting an open letter from 51 State Dept employees who don't agree with the way the war in Syria is going. I wonder now if the Pentagon may have 50+ employees also write Obama an open letter about the War vs ISIS.

Not just employees, but Diplomats, and this is unheard of until now. If the Pentagon leadership said anything, it would severely limit promotional opportunities, might need to brush up the old resume if they did. It makes no difference, because there is insufficient time for Obama and his cronies to develop a new strategy and implement it in six months.

MCPO Roger Collins - I bet Obama is pissed & John Kerry has some explaining to do with this letter from his State Dept. Michelle Obama probably told him to fire all 51 who signed this open letter & remind everyone he is the President and elections have consequences as she likes to remind us.
