Why doesn't Tricare cover orthodontics?

Why can't they even contribute to the final fee? That's just outrageous.

The Air Force wants to to do surgery and fill my missing teeth because my other teeth are caving in. But in order to do the surgery, I need my teeth aligned. To get my teeth aligned, I need braces. But they don't cover any fee at all. This is just mind games

Tricare can be a pain. You can take a look at buying into the supplemental dental plans on the Mil/Fed side. Suggest you talk to Admin about the various paths on that. BTW Met Life and Delta tend to be well respected. Check their plans about ortho coverage.
