Why focus on the gun and not the issues related to the abortion?

What do you expect from lame-duck POTUS Obama who has consistently been in favor of stricter gun-controls through his two terms in office Sgt Spencer Sikder?
POTUS Obama has been consistently in favor of supporting abortion rights an oxymoron as far as I am concerned. I am opposed to individuals taking vengeance on random people as seems to be the case in Colorado.
The irony of the POTUS and others decrying the killing by gunfire at an abortion clinic where who knows how many pre-born children have been skewered in the name of freedom of choice.

The gun is an easier issue to focus on as it was the tool used and it also supports a key political objective.
It remains to be seen as to what the trigger issue might have been. Had he wielded a hammer or a knife, the coverage would not have been as intense.

First off, abortion is a constitutionally protected right along with gun ownership. You can't pick and choose which constitutionally protected freedoms you get to support. Second, the only people this terrorist affected were those who were there to receive healthcare services like cancer screenings and pap smears. I don't know if you actually understand what planned parenthood is and what services they offer.

Thank you all for your perspectives. I suppose I was looking at this from a standpoint that this tragic event entangled two very important issues in our country, however POTUS decided to only look at one. That one issue would not have prevented this zealot from committing his crime. If we recall, there was a rash of fire bombings of these clinics in the past. So its not the gun that is the issue, it's the way some think they need to fix what in their minds needs repair.

Because guns are the issue. I love guns and I am all for gun rights, but if you have to have training and pass a test to drive a car, why don't you have to in order to own a gun? It takes longer to be able to legally operate a fork lift than it does to legally own a gun! How is that right?

After reading the posts here I am appalled.

Folks from the far right and the far left have to quit politicizing every event.

In almost all events there seems to be three stories. The far left, the far right and the real happening.

Both extremes are doing major harm to our country and if we don't stop this crap we are going to find ourselves no longer a country and wondering why some one else has taken us over.

I am beginning to think that people will make a parking ticket either a gun or abortion issue.

Sgt Spencer Sikder This is the same man who in PARIS said that these mass shootings don't happen in other countries. He is so out of touch with reality that it is scary. He will spin anything he can to his agenda of making millions of legal gun owners into criminals for exercising our constitutional rights. I am a responsibly armed American Citizen. I hate that this happened. I hate that innocent people were killed regardless of where it occurred.

I don't know anything about the source for this so the article may or may not be valid, but the video shows the insensitive remarks made by Mr. Obama in Paris.

It's not a "gun" or "abortion" issue.

The person who committed this was a murderer. That's already against the law. Just because he doesn't like something else, he killed others. That isn't "Protest" in the Constitutionally Protected sense.
