Why George W. Bush is more popular than President Obama (+video)

PO2 (Join to see) You're still implying political implications to a conversation that had nothing to do with politics. While I don't necessarily disagree with what you're saying, it's irrelevant to the discussion. It was just a conversation about the physical demeanor of one president against that of the other.

I think President Obama is very charismatic, and a skilled public speaker and motivator. I'm a contrarian by nature and the same thing that motivates so many others makes me suspicious that I'm looking at another Adolph Hitler.

George W. Bush on the other hand was a horrible public speaker IMO and I was torn between feelings of "He sounds like me, I can relate" and "He sounds incompetent, couldn't we have gotten someone better for the job?"

PO2 Daniel Heckman, first, G. Bush has an 130+ IQ so, while he may have been a C student, it doesn't necessarily reflect upon his intelligence or his ability to handle the office of President of the United States. To point out some examples of history, you might want to take a look at the academic record of U. S. Grant (only won the U.S. Civil War and later also President of the United States) and A. Einstein (E=MC2 ring a bell). Your post was so obviously made by someone drinking the koolaid, it isn't even funny. As someone who served under President Bush, I will tell you that I would much rather have him as my C-in-C than the current office holder. This one is arrogant, high-handed, and while he may have had much success as academic, it reminds me of the old adage of "those who can't, teach." He may be personable on a one-to-one basis. I don't know, never met him. He is an eloquent speaker and debater. Bush is personable and able to connect with the common man despite his fortunate upbringing.

Mind you, I certainly agree that we will see election ads along that line if Jeb Bush gets the Republican nomination and that those ads will sway voters (even though they make no sense at all).

President Clinton did the best he could do with the "dot com" revolution that strongly fueled the economy regardless during his 8 years. He was smart to keep Greenspan in office. (spelling)? President Bush inherited 9/11. (That was coordinated during the Clinton admin?). That cost the country BILLIONS..... President Obama? Thank God no one told him what comes after "trillion". It's all how you look at it.
