The Army does not want to reno (renegotiate your ontract) you so they bump the leave dates. If you want to change your MOS I am sure the Recruiter can accommodate you versus you possibly being a DEP Loss. The last thing your recruiter and his/her chain of command wants is to keep people in the DEP any longer than necessary. The longer a person is in DEP, the greater chance they will disqualify themselves with a medical or law problem, or get second thoughts and want to back out. It is well within your right to know why, but I would advise you to be patient. As others have mentioned, your background check is likely the hold up. Now, while you should always be kept well-informed, this is not always the case.

Now, as to why you could potentially get delayed:
1. AIT class date was filled, so rather than hold you still, paying you to do nothing for months on end waiting on a class date, they just shift your ship date to the right so that your training (and pay) is virtually seamless and timely.

2. Your background check is holding you up. Based upon the broken English and the your name, I can guess that you are not a U.S. Native, or you come form a family that is not (this is an assumption, and so clearly, I could be wrong). But background checks for immigrants and non-citizens can take exponentially longer than natural-born citizens. So that's option 2.

3. Your recruiter screwed up somewhere. It happens. They're people. They make mistakes, same as us. But if that happened, they have to fix it, and that can take months at a time to fix (like having to re-slot you for a class date).

All in all, just be patient, ask questions, learn what you can, and come into our fold as our peer, our brother, and our Battle.

Welcome to the family.
