Responsibility is a lonely place, and he is responsible... whether he likes it or accepts it. The buck stops with him. It is easy to take credit for petty party agenda items, but ultimately he is responsible for all that happens and fails to happen. Every president is in the same boat. I think Harry Truman had a sign on his desk that read, 'The buck stops here" Any President is quick to take credit when things go wrong, a leader takes responsibility when things go wrong. When you are the leader anything that succeeds or fails is your responsibility. Therefore, he is blamed for everything, successes and failures, it comes with the job.

I don't blame the President for everything. But I do blame him for some of the questionable decisions that have been made, and the sketchy explanations for them. The man seems incapable of admitting an error.

When the Framers established the three Branches of government, and specifically the Executive, they debated how many members each should have. They decided on a Singular Head of Executive. This prevented any "blame sharing." It figuratively made the President responsible for all the country's woes.

The President is the leader of our nation, just like a CEO is the leader of a company. The only difference is when a CEO repeatedly screws up, he/she can be fired and replaced. Not so with the other.

Because scapegoats are much easier than research and study... Oh, and Muricuh... Responsibility and fault are two different things. Most issues will have a thousand variables that no one person can control. That's life. He isn't really to blame for a great deal, but as President, he still shoulders responsibility. It has nothing to do with him, it's just inherent in the office, which is why Presidents seem to age in double dog years...

No one blames Obama for "everything" another lefty red herring meant to make it look like people are unfair to him. He escapes and evades far more blame than he takes. He has become an expert at redirecting.

Who should be blame for the failure in US foreign policy the last 7 years? Who should we blame for a still open border in the south? Who should we blame for the rise and looming threat of ISIS? Who should we blame for the still pitiful economic growth rates? Remember, he had a plan to govern, lead and fix it all for us. Now when it is worse, his supporters want to say he is treated/blamed unfairly.

What is the state of our domestic and foreign policy, and has been for almost two terms? Chaos around the globe, unemployment (94,000,000 workers lost shown by the non-participation rate), 49,000,000 on food stamps, crony capitalism up the ying yang....... What part doesn't he have a responsibility for? Any time he wishes, he can return the cajones to the Republicans and then he will have a scapegoat for all his and his lady friends advising to blame.

Everything isn't, some of it is... he fought the entire Republican party to institute Obamacare, when he should have simply gone with Medicare for everyone. He allowed Republicans to regain the House of Representatives and block pretty much every initiative after two years in office. He's made a lot of mistakes, and failed to achieve some very important objectives however things would have been even worse if a Republican candidate had made it into office.

I have to wonder if you would have asked the same for previous presidents - or just the one you happen to agree with.

Blame gets pushed to the President, that's part of the job. Some Presidents are lucky enough to be able to push that blame off to the previous President for a very long time... And somehow are able to collect _credit_ immediately.

Because when you're in charge, something he's very uncomfortable with, you're the one who takes all the slings and arrows, so to speak. I think I heard it put best a year or so ago when a pundit described Obama as a mere bystander in his own presidency.

The guy was elected on a wave of largely media-generated hysteria that made him seem almost messianic....all before taking office. To say the very least, the proof wasn't in the pudding and the hype DRASTICALLY exceeded his subsequent performance. So if you're unqualified, uncaring, and incompetent all at once, what else are we to think?

It's politics and yellow journalism. It happens on the right and left. I don't know how many political posts I see on facebook about Obama, Trump, Clinton and Bush that are total fabrication, cherry picking quotes or misuse/ misinterpretation of photographs.

If he was actually blamed for everything (or, even for the things he is actually to blame for) he would have already been impeached or imprisoned. He has been protected by the media like no other President before him and criticism of him and his Administration has largely been ignored by the media and, as a result, by a great many of Americans. That, coupled with the disinformation foisted upon the American public by his Administration, with the full support of the liberal media, has deflected blame for much of his wrongdoing. I have said it before and will say it again, Obama is the most inept, corrupt, divisive, racist and immoral President this country has ever had. He has done so much damage to our country that it will take decades to recover from it, if we ever can.

He's not responsible for everything, just most of it. The assumption is he's responsible for everything wrong that happened during his eight years. He is responsible for his own actions, or lack there of. Every President is blamed for everything. I remember when I was a kid and I would hear my dad say, all Eisenhower does is play golf. It's been one thing or another for every President to go through during their tenure. Obama has made a lot of unrealistic decisions without accepting input from from those around him, he depends on.
I ask myself in this election year, why would anyone want a known liar or a socialist for our POTUS, and someone who ran on a whim and won, not knowing anything about Washington and politics.

I certainly don't blame POTUS Obama for all "man-made" global warning activity on the planet. I do blame him for the war on the coal industry, coal-fired energy plants and the miners of this nation.
As the POTUS the buck stops there for decisions which impact our relations with other nations. I blame him fro supporting the Arab spring which turned into the Arab winter.
I don't blame POTUS Obama for the state of race relation sin this nation and the disdain for police officers in many parts of this nation. That preceded him but he could have used his Bully Pulpit to better effect to reduce tension instead of adding fuel to those fires.
I blame Obama for the Its Bush's fault for son long into his administration tenure. In that sense it will be appropriate if the nation blames Obama for his own actions and policies for the nest decade or so. History will sort this out in a century or so.
I do blame POTUS Obama for doing his best to change the social landscape of this nation. He has been the strongest supporter of induced abortion of any President. He has led the charge to use the military as the forerunner of national social change through expanding the military specialties that women can serve in while drawing down the military. [I am a member of the USMAPS class of 1976 and USMA Class of 1980 which were the first classes which included women as cadet candidates and cadets respectively.
