Why is it as "one nation under God" we have multiple pronunciations of the same words?

there are regional dialects and accents and such, thats in most countries and we're not one nation under god, we're one nation divided into 50 states, 5 time zones, 5 regions.

Because each area of the melting pot that our country is, was settled by different groups of immigrants who learned to speak English through different channels.
