SPC Melissa Cheek 6121436 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>There are veterans that take care of elderly or disabled parents but we can&#39;t add them as a dependent even if they live with you and draw any kind of income (social security, alimony, etc.). The max they are allowed to bring home is something like $750. Even if you pay for everything, you still can&#39;t add them as a dependent with the VA. Why? Why is it so hard to add a parent as a dependent? 2020-07-20T21:29:07-04:00 SPC Melissa Cheek 6121436 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>There are veterans that take care of elderly or disabled parents but we can&#39;t add them as a dependent even if they live with you and draw any kind of income (social security, alimony, etc.). There are a few other things, but that is your first step. However, it did not take them long to review and add her as my dependent! I’d say it only took approximately five to six weeks!! Extremely fast for the VA!!! Don’t give up hope!!!
