I work with formerly homeless Veterans and we have a group that are constantly threatening physical harm, verbally abusive towards staff and always threatening to get their Attorney to handle this. I, as a Veteran of 33years myself, am a little disgusted with the lack of appreciation and respect this group is displaying. Any advice on how to handle this group?

Anytime we take a group of people and allow them to think they are special because of a certain demographic we do harm to said group. Vietnam vets were treated horribly and like most fixes in the US, we overkilled this one. Just because I served does not make me a better person than my neighbor nor am I entitled to anything.

They are certainly allowed to feel how they feel but they still have to act appropriately in public. It is still a place of business and they don't get a free pass on the BS express just because they are upset. I understand their frustration and possibly even the presence of mental/substance issues but case managers still have the expectation of working in a place that isn't a proverbial minefield. Just make a policy for or enforce the current policy regarding behavior in the building.

What's The Recommendation,
As To What To Do,
When A Government Employee Says:
"I'm With Your Government, And I'm Here To Help You".?
And Not Much Has Changed,
Just For Chuckles, Call Your Social Services Offices And Ask:
"What Are The Qualifications To Become A CASA Worker"?
That'll Terrify The Sh*t Right Out Of You.
Especially If You're A Parent To ANY Children.
