I don’t have any allotments or anything of the sort coming out. So I’m curious as to why I’m seemingly being shorted. Why is my pay being shorted by around $180 each paycheck?2018-12-12T11:47:39-05:00PVT Private RallyPoint Member4202440<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>So I’m an E-1 and I looked today and saw that I’m only getting 565 a paycheck instead of my full amount. Just a quick calculation says your total Federal Tax burden is about $403 a month at your income level. Then deduct SGLI and State taxes, that sounds about right for 1/2 months pay.Response by CPT Lawrence Cable made Dec 12 at 2018 12:27 PM2018-12-12T12:27:58-05:002018-12-12T12:27:58-05:00MSG Private RallyPoint Member4203028<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Talk to your team leader about turning in a pay inquiry and les to your S1 to figure it out if your leadership doesnt know.Response by MSG Private RallyPoint Member made Dec 12 at 2018 3:32 PM2018-12-12T15:32:30-05:002018-12-12T15:32:30-05:00MAJ Private RallyPoint Member4203511<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div><a class="dark-link bold-link" role="profile-hover" data-qtip-container="body" data-id="1592663" data-source-page-controller="question_response_contents" href="/profiles/1592663-11c-indirect-fire-infantryman-mortarman">PVT Private RallyPoint Member</a> Your LES has the deductions written right on it. If you are in the barracks you are paying for meal card and not receiving BAH. There could be a possibility that you finance folks are taking money because you might have been over paid. The military is ruthless about that unless you set up a payment plan. But your LES says it all. During basic training, all services receive a reduced pay. E1 is about 1680 a month, meaning 840 every pay. Take away taxes state and federal taxes plus SGLI, and that's about 560.Response by SFC Private RallyPoint Member made Dec 13 at 2018 5:03 AM2018-12-13T05:03:23-05:002018-12-13T05:03:23-05:002018-12-12T11:47:39-05:00
