Why is Ohio Govenor John Kasich still in the GOP Presidential Race?

John Kasich has a low delegate total! He is banking on Ohio and a few Northern states to Resuscitate his Campaign! Why doesn't he just drop out?

He's the ONLY one left in the GOP that has any sense. I think he's true to his conservative beliefs, but knows the importance of working across the isle to get things done. I wouldn't be surprised if he got the nod at the convention over the others. He's the only one who served in any role under Raegan, and he has a solid record with budgets.

Don't kid yourself for a moment, if Trump gets the nomination he could tap Kasich (the voice of reason) not to mention his connection and knowledge of how Capitol Hill operates.

Kasich has said he is running for President not Vice but I think if he was offered he would take it.

He has two problems. One, he falls into the establishment group that could care less what the voter wants, whether true or not. Second, he comes across as a know it all. It will be interesting to see what he does if he doesn't win by a significant margin.

Yes, John Kasich is a qualified candidate, possibly more so than those who remain. But so were others who have already been eliminated. So, why is he still in it? That's a helluva good question. Maybe he is hoping for a brokered convention. Maybe his campaign managers are following in the footsteps of Abraham Lincoln's campaign managers. They didn't expect Lincoln to be anyone's first pick, but rather everyone's second pick. It worked for Lincoln. That leaves the question: Will there be a brokered convention? Only if Trump does not have sufficient delegates to win on the first ballot. If the first ballot fails, everyone is released from their commitments and can vote for whomever they please. Could it be Kasich? Could be...

Many Republicans are preparing for a contested primary, where no single candidate has enough delegates to carry the day. Someone would need to win 1,237 delegates to win a majority. I think he's holding onto the slimmest hope that he can maintain viability and sneak into the convention, and if it turns out to be a brokered disaster, he can come out on top since he is the 'adult in the room.'

SPC Andrew Griffin I think he is hedging his bets that there will be brokered convention and that he will be able to get the support in that venue to obtain the nomination. His conservative background, experience, and accomplishments in Congress and as the Governor of Ohio certainly makes him a good compromise between Trump, Cruz and Rubio.
