Why is rallyPoint turning into facebook? I thought this was a forum to discuss military topics that we can learn and grow from...

We are not only service members and veterans but also parents and children, citizens, taxpayers, artists, craftsmen, tradesmen, professionals, teachers, and more. We not only defend/defended this great nation but also live in it. Our interests and concerns are as varied as any civilian and more. We are also warriors and students of the art of war. That is why RallyPoint offers tags/categories so that we can wade through each others comments and responses ferreting out those that we want to focus on. Who then is so superior that they would impose their values and interests on the rest of us.

I’m glad Tom could be of help LOL but I think you’re missing the point
There is no place on the Internet a servicemember can speak with out possible repercussions to think like that is a great way to get yourself in trouble.
Anything you say online you should be willing to say do your commander staining in the position of attention in front of them because that’s the end result

As a student of history, I can state with a fair amount of confidence that any country whose military is disconnected from the people they protect/serve, is wide open for either conquest, or internal suppression.
The Soviet Union learned the hard way that you can't use locals to suppress locals -- they are too involved. You have to bring in outsiders.
If the national military sees the nation as "other than us", the motivation to defend to the death goes away.

Quite frankly, 1SG, this is probably the safest place to have these discussions with people you don't agree with. As Vets and servicemembers, we have unique perspectives into government and politics. We have many tools at our disposal to lead, train, and mentor, but RallyPoint is a unique social platform that would be difficult to maintain elsewhere.

SPC Jeremiah Fluellen Dude. Do not spam us. Servicemembers can't "say whatever" on social media. Your link sounds sketchy as hell.

SGM Erik Marquez - SGM Erik Marquez you are mistaken if you think that Mr. Craft have total access to your new website. However, I'm glad that you made me aware. Those are the thing we are trying to improve.

SSG Jessica Bautista - Sorry SSG Jessica Bautista that you feel that way. However, There is nothing skeptic about your new website iammilitary.net. You can truly speak your mind on the site. You can also chat live with ours. I would advise you to CHECK IT OUT before you smash it. We believe that the open mind is just as important as freedom of speech. So SSG Jessica Bautista you can read Proverbs 18:13.

SPC Jeremiah Fluellen I'm going to agree with SGM Erik Marquez on this one. Speaking 100% freely is not realistic for servicemembers. One need only glance at the UCMJ board at any active unit to know that isn't true.

In today’s highly charged divisive political climate it’s not surprising to see political posts on RP. It’s a topic of concern for many folks. However, I also see many military specific posts every day. The great thing about RP is that you can pick and choose what you want to follow and participate in.
There is no other social media site like RP out there. I will take the good with the bad and I am thankful for the wisdom and insight of the folks on this site. While there are a few disrespectful knuckle heads on RP, they usually don’t last too long.
