Why is the Iowa Caucuses so Important?

If I remember this is usually one of the swing states. Iowa is one of the states that would win the election to who ever wins this state.

It is important because like New Hampshire, it makes the smaller states have a real role in the selection of the next president.

Simply because it has been the first primary in the nation for many years SPC Andrew Griffin. Even though it is a small state in terms of population the Iowa Caucuses exerts undue influence because it attracts the majority if not all of serious Presidential candidates and their funding "arms" to the state where the have the "opportunity" to talk to interested and or bemused voters :-)

I have been trying to figure this out since I started voting. LOL I've also been trying to figure out why we vote at all cause one can have more votes, yet the one with more electoral votes wins....I don't get it. Great Question!

It's called the "Bandwagon" effect. Make a lot of noise early in the parade and get the suckers to follow. Distract them with shiny objects and sound bites. Inertia is a powerful force, difficult to overcome. However, it's been done. Remember Hillary's last run for President? It was within her grasp until an unknown took the Democratic nomination...
