I still don't understand why I should care about those that are transgender being banned from the military. I have seen other members here saying some wild statements like that Trump only wants white males to be in the Army. That is just stupid. I am going to call it how I see it. So you think Trump only wants white males to fight and die for their country and you think that is fair. I recall a time in history where some were complaining that minorities were the ones that would be dying for their country.

I am sure a lot of you are going to call me a bigot because you think anything different is evil and must be stopped. Or, that I must hate anyone different from myself. But I will tell you why I don’t care. I recall the invasion of Iraq and soldiers deployed no body armor, armored vehicles, or equipment. No one protested in the streets like this. I recall when US troops were getting pulled out of Iraq while we denied that Iraq was not ready. This resulted in us going back and ISIS killing thousands. No one was in the streets protesting. There are too many other issues like when Iran took hostage US Sailors and again, no one protested.

Another reason why, if you have allergies you can't join. I don’t see the National Allergy Association protesting. Or any of the other groups complaining. The military should be focused on war fighting. When I was in the Army I saw this going away. Even SeDef Mattis said we need to get away from all of these pointless briefings. If you ask soldiers today about this issue most of them don’t understand why the military is even dealing with this. I doubt there are commanders out there that are eager to write yet another inclusion policy.

What kills me is that most of those protesting don’t even care about the military or serving. To those that are transgender and are in the military. Thanks for your service. It is on par with anyone else in the military. Just like all of those other soldiers that were chaptered out for any of the medical conditions that deemed them unable to serve now this may include you too soon. If the military doesn’t deem it would be for the greater good then so be it.

I agree that there are bigger fires to fight and that at the end of the day we need to make decisions based on the best way to win wars. Not on what is politically correct. I've said it before on here about women serving in infantry units. I'm not downplaying their willingness to fight or their service, I just think it will cause more issues than it solves. And whether those issues should or shouldn't be caused is irrelevant. If they're there, they're there. I don't want US service members dying on the alter of "tolerance".

I agree with ya. There are some places that are just fine. But a fool would say that all places are equal.

For me, personally, I don't care about their gender or their sexual orientation. I just want them to grab their gear, move out and do the job and kill the enemy.

I agree to an extent but I don't think it will be that easy. We separate men and women for obvious reasons. But if I as a man tell everyone that I now identify as a woman regardless of my DNA and male anatomy, do I get to shower and bunk with women? It just creates issues that I believe will take away from the mission. Maybe not, but that's where I see this going.

MAJ (Join to see) - Oh, logistics wise, it will be some growing pains, I agree. But in the end, it still boils down to the Soldier grabbing their gear and moving out to the objective. I don't care what color, race, gender, identity you are. Move out and fire.

CPT Russell Pitre well put, sir. I think, deep down, the vast majority of us feel the same way. We don't give 2 sh*ts about the social programs that Washington is forcing upon servicemembers. We just want/wanted to go serve. If the person next to you was a damned purple platypus, so long as they pulled their weight, then lets go kick some bad guy ass.
I think SecDef Mattis is right. It is time the military started focusing on being the military again. We are not a social experiment for whatever group is out there. Hell, we're not even the peacekeepers; that is the job of the politician. Our job is to go break sh*t when the politicians fail to keep the peace diplomatically. Period. Dot.

The softening of the requirements are the bitch for me. Relaxing the standards hurts everyone just so a minority can meet the bar. Now if they can meet the old standards then I have no issues and welcome all. The only reason American Forces stay on top of the Military pile is because we train the hardest and often. I read one story how our forces crashed a helo on a mountain and the enemy could not stop our men from over taking a higher ground point from them. Why? Because our troops trained how to run and fire as a team. The enemy lost their position due to Outstanding Training.
