Being raised by a Muslim father and having lived in Indonesia in a rich Muslim environment, he has deep-seated feelings of affirmation towards that faith. He has made that abundantly clear since his World Apology Tour and his personally divisive feelings of animosity towards Israel.

Good question, he came close to answering it yesterday. I kinda get the impression he believes it will inflame the radicals who perpetrate such horrid atrocities, but they will not change their beliefs or actions. Or perhaps it will inflame the Muslim population as a whole.

With all that has happened across the globe from individuals and/or groups that are indeed radicalized by a different belief that seems out of step with the Islam norm, then what else do you call this group to narrowly define them, the very persons/groups that we are in a global war with? So good question, why will he not use a more defined term? And why hasn't the Muslin population also spoken out and used this term? And why has this administration gone out of its way to edit other nations heads-of-states using this term in their joint press events?

I do not know the answer to your question, but I do believe it would be appropriate as it narrows the targeted group rather than all Muslims as a whole as this is not a war against the religion or Muslims as a whole, but rather a war against a specific targeted group with radical ideologies.

Maybe it has something to do with this PC world we now live in. Good question, I suppose only he knows the answer and has not been able to convey it to the satisfaction of the American populace. I only wish he was as angry and aggressive against Radical Islamist groups as he was on yesterdays press event about Donald Trump.

I think it's more about not countering the narrative he's trying to script regarding his legacy and time in office. His big "achievements" in foreign policy were stopping the wars and Iraq and Afghanistan. Yet anyone with a brain can see all he did was pull us out and declare victory, the situation on the ground be damned.

I'm not a fan of the current POTUS but in this matter he may have swayed me. Do I think the actions of Eric Rudolph and other terrorists who blow up and attack abortion factories are indicative of all Christians? No I do not. Therefore, I cannot likewise hold all Muslims to account for the less than 1% of those who would commit atrocities while waving the flag of Islam.
