Will a 91b mos army enlistment present more opportunities than Walmart auto lube tech? https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/will-a-91b-mos-army-enlistment-present-more-opportunities-than-walmart-auto-lube-tech <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Enlistment vs living at parents home with auto department job at Walmart. Wonder if the military puts you into a position to learn, grow and become a more rounded individual. I am 21 with no commitments and little family. Mechanics is fine, I just wonder if years at a dead end job is nothing more than a paycheck. The benefits suck, the pay is sad, and the public is grotesque. The Army is what you make it. If it ain&#39;t for you, it ain&#39;t for you. But do yourself a favor, go meet a recruiter from each branch and see what they have to offer. As a 91B you can earn ASE ratings for diesel mechanics and other areas. Learn about other MOSs. Just because you are a mechanic now, doesn&#39;t mean you have to be in the Army. Maybe consider another Maintainer or Logistics MOS. Much is dependent on how you approach your life. You get what you put into it. After a career in the military, you should walk away with a strong set of values, real experiences, and the GI Bill.
