SGT Private RallyPoint Member 5117876

would i be allowed to keep my permanent shaving profile if i wanted to go SF or join Ranger Regiment ? I get VA Comp. for my face because it was that bad for me. So how will that go when i switch over to full time? (and yes i know i won't get comp when im active) Will a permanent shaving profile hurt me if I want to do any special operations, such as SF or joining the 75th RR? 2019-10-12T08:44:05-04:00 SGT Private RallyPoint Member 5117876

would i be allowed to keep my permanent shaving profile if i wanted to go SF or join Ranger Regiment ? You have to have that profile removed before you can apply. I can send you the email i have for confirmation. For SF i believe it’s different Response by SSG Private RallyPoint Member made Oct 12 at 2019 9:20 AM 2019-10-12T09:20:55-04:00 2019-10-12T09:20:55-04:00 LtCol Robert Quinter 5131671

Any deviation from the norm makes you less desirable for prestigious assignments when there are others equally qualified but don't have that deviation. All the SOG guys have beards. I saw it on the internet.
More seriously ... I got the side of my face under the jawline seriously burned and scarred. After the healing, I started to have problems with the hair follicles curling under the skin. This is how the issue was treated.
TALK to a Dermatologist’s BEFORE attempting.
1. Use Depilatory Cream. After a serious burn to my jaw I started having problems with my beard. However a Depilatory Cream like Nair doesn't removes the roots. So you have to go a step further.
2. Apply Intense Pulsed Light. IPL is a comparatively new hair removal method. It works with flashes of light that affect the regrowth of body hair. It is derived from professional methods used by dermatologists.
IPL Works by: Focusing a narrow beam of concentrated light on to small sections of skin. The light is absorbed by pigment in the hair follicle underneath the skin surface, thus heating the hair follicle and disabling hair growth. The paler your skin or conversely, the darker your hair, the better the treatment will work.
