Will a VA disability rating affect my PULHES?

I have an ankle injury 20% disability and I am trying to reclass to an MOS that needs PULHES 111111, 68W. Can I get a waiver if it drops my PULHES score?

A permanent profile changes your PULHES. Sure, you can request a waiver from the MOS proponent, but they're not going to waive it. 68W is a pretty physically demanding MOS. The TC3 and field care portion will have you dragging and buddy carrying 200 pound dummies around

I'm curious, the only MOS that I know of that requires a straight 1 PULHES is 12D Engineer Diver, is that where you are trying to reclass?

As others have said it’s an uphill tortuous battle. Getting a waiver and dropping your PULHES I think are two separate processes

VA disability and PULHES don't have anything to do with each other. The question is does the condition that led to the 20% VA rating require a permanent profile? That completely depends on what it is.

I'm 60% VA and a Soldier in my reserve unit is 100% VA, without issue.

Got the Answer today. Doc says as long as I don’t get a hold profile. PULHES won’t change. Thank you SFC Jason Boyd

Some more clarification is needed from your question. Have you received ratings of disability from the Army and VA, or have you been talking to friends about an injury that just occurred?

Long, long time ago, yes you could have gotten a waiver, in '89 while assigned to Med Co. MFO a fellow E-6, 91B then 68W now, had a 112111 perm. Have you considered having that ankle injury reevaluated; or was it rebuilt with pins and plates? You might get away with doing a "Back door" by going NG or USAR and then applying to switch to AD but that too is a long shot... If you really want a medical MOS look at Patient Admin or Personnel/Finance with an assignment to MEDAC/MEDCOM...
