Will airborne change orders ?

If i get orders to a duty station while im reclassing and just so happen to pick up airborne school before heading out will that change my orders ?

There’s a lot of if’s there buddy. Usually I’d say you could expect needs of the Army; but stranger things have happened.

Your orders should get deleted and you should be placed on assignment for an airborne unit.

Not automatically. Maybe if your new MOS requires it, and only have units in certain duty stations. I picked up airborne in OSUT and per DS guidance, requested an airborne assignment. Jump school told me after graduation they didn't want to process the request for all of us who requested.

Maybe you could ask the branch manager of the new MOS if they'll have a slot for you somewhere.

SGT Private RallyPoint Member before I retired in 2013, Big Army made the decision to stop sending every Tom, Dick and Harry to Airborne School. The reason is that there were/are so many Soldiers that have been to the school and never get assigned an Airborne Unit. Now you have to get orders to an Airborne unit before they will send someone to Airborne School.
