Will I be a good candidate for WO selection? How should I articulate myself in my request for waivers? https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/will-i-be-a-good-candidate-for-wo-selection-how-should-i-articulate-myself-in-my-request-for-waivers <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I am a SFC who is looking to submit a warrant packet for 153A. Currently I’m 2 months away from hitting the 12 year mark for active service. In addition to that, I’m 34 years old. I understand by doing some research that the kind of packet I submit and how my request for waivers are articulated will hold a lot of weight. How much does my military career so far weigh on hrc’s Decision to approve the waivers? A little bit about myself. Currently I’m a Ranger instructor. All of my ncoers are solid, I have 3 deployments all as a leader, I’ve completed all Ncoes required of my rank, ranger qualified, Airborne, Air assault, pathfinder, Rslc, jumpmaster, 131 gt score, and 37 semester hours of college. By no means is my age a factor but I understand the logic behind the afs requirement. Can someone give some guidance on how I should present myself to the board and waiver reviewer(s) so that I have a solid chance of getting picked up. I’m pretty sure I can articulate my desire to become a warrant officer and ability to bring something to the table if given the opportunity. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. The best thing to do is to contact a WO recruiter and a WO who you know, particularly in the field you’re trying to get into. Good luck!
