The Army has a paternity leave program that grants a number of days that cost the solder using them nothing. The one hitch for you will be in the timing and that your AIT will be pushed back a bit assuming you are an OSUT soldier. The below link is informative only. Seek your CoC or your post chaplain. <br /><a target="_blank" href="https://www.thebalancecareers.com/army-paternity-leave-3344594">https://www.thebalancecareers.com/army-paternity-leave-3344594</a> <div class="pta-link-card answers-template-image type-default"> <div class="pta-link-card-picture"> <img src="https://d26horl2n8pviu.cloudfront.net/link_data_pictures/images/000/455/136/qrc/GettyImages-90306693-5a44ecd4482c520036778a30.jpg?1573302116"> </div> <div class="pta-link-card-content"> <p class="pta-link-card-title"> <a target="blank" href="https://www.thebalancecareers.com/army-paternity-leave-3344594">Overview of the Army Paternity Leave Program</a> </p> <p class="pta-link-card-description">The Army paternity leave policy allows married male soldiers on active duty to take 20 days of nonchargeable leave for the birth of a child.</p> </div> <div class="clearfix"></div> </div> SSG Brian G. I had a fine Commander and my Chain of Command arrange for me to fly military airland enroute between deployments to be present for my second daughters birth. BCT end date is same as projected delivery date of my child. What process should I follow?
