SPC Private RallyPoint Member 6747568

I was med dropped during the Q-course and am now going to AIT for 92Y. Since I’ve been in for a couple years and am reclassing most people say I’ll be with the other reclasses and NCO’s during AIT, however some say that since I was in training for the entirety of my time in, I’m still considered initial entry and will be treated like the people straight out of basic. My S1 says it’s a grey area. Anyone have any idea how it’ll work? Will I be considered MOS-T during reclass after being Med dropped from the 18X course? 2021-02-14T20:56:11-05:00 SPC Private RallyPoint Member 6747568

I was med dropped during the Q-course and am now going to AIT for 92Y. No one here can tell you what the Cadre will do with you at FT Lee, but you can call and ask them yourself. The most likely answer is that if you're sent as an IET Soldier you'll be treated as IET. If you're sent TDY Enroute with orders to your follow on assignment you'll be grouped with reclasses. Being injured in the q course must be tough. But props for passing selection. We had some 18x reclasses at the 25 series schoolhouse, they were all MOS-T. Not sure how 92 series AIT works though Response by SSG Private RallyPoint Member made Feb 15 at 2021 10:36 AM 2021-02-15T10:36:41-05:00 2021-02-15T10:36:41-05:00 SFC Casey O'Mally 6748862

SFC Private RallyPoint Member Has given you the best and most thorough answer possible, IMHO.

The only thing I can add is that were it *my* course, it would be silly to put you with the IET Soldiers. But if it DOES happen, do not act like the IET Soldiers. Show your professionalism, do the right thing, and continue to move forward as a hard charger. You may be med dropped from 18 series, but keep that hard charging fire alive and strive to be the best AIT Soldier, the best 92Y, the best overall Soldier that you can. There CAN be a large temptation to let yourself slide down to the typical IET behavior and standards. Don't do it.

Even if 18 series is no longer in play for you, you can still move forward with a great career, if you choose to.
