Will I be delayed in reception if I go to sick call? https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/will-i-be-delayed-in-reception-if-i-go-to-sick-call

I am at reception at fort Jackson right now and I think I may have strep throat. My only worry is it delaying me or possibly even getting me sent home. For some MOSs that can be a while. But strep throat would not cause you to miss much training or in-processing so I doubt it would be bad.

I went through BCT with pneumonia and a torn ACL and made it out fine without sick call. You don't need the ibuprofen. My MEPS group (I had attended delayed entry but returned to 'final in-process' so I was given everyone's packets to carry from Montgomery AL to Ft Knox Reception) lost around 10% The next day most rejoined us and we all started Basic together.
Two guys joined my squad. One had the clap and the other needed emergency tooth extraction. Both would have suffered pretty bad if their problems hadn't been caught.
So don't sweat it. You are doing nobody favors by spreading your illness. Young privates go crazy thinking they will be in training 10 minutes than they need to. You will be in some type of training however long you stay in service. If you don't get treatment it could make training worse and might be out longer if you don't get treatment now. SSgt Holden M.
