Will I go to reclass school or AIT for 88M?

I was informed that 88M has AIT at Ft Leonard wood and a separate reclass school at Ft Knox. I am prior service and just joined the Army so will my command send me to reclass school or AIT?

Since you're prior Service the most likely scenaro is re-Class School which will teach you the down and dirty. You probably wouldn't fit well at an AIT.

SPC Private RallyPoint Member have you checked in at your gaining unit? I think they can fill in a lot of blanks. I just notice some ÿou used to be PME/TMDE. You'll get it figured out.

That's kind of a misleading term. They are all AITs, but there is one for Active Duty and the rest are reserve component schools around the country. Not all MOS's do this and some have multiple school locations. They are usually multi phase and break down into 2 week chunks to allow reserve soldiers to attend without too much interruption to their civilian life. If the Reserve option is available for you, that's most likely the one your unit will utilize.
You can log into the ATRRS Course Catalog and pull up the school dates and locations.

I’m prior service and they’re shipping me out to Fort Leonard Wood for 88M AIT.

Ask your recruiter. He/she is your go-to guy for all the questions. It's the DA who will take care of that. You just wait for the order. On the other hand, do you have a family? They will have to either wait for you at your current location or you will have to take them there and establish housing for them before going to school. They cannot get anything without you. Your assignment order should say so. Your recruiter should ask you for this information and put in a request for you.
