SPC Private RallyPoint Member 4229079

Some information first. I have 90.5 ETS leave days. I intend to use 30 and sell the other 60. My ETS date is October 2 2019. I will, if approved by my commander, be using a program available through JBLM called VIE-25 which lets me start college April 1st. The program ends August 14th.

Our unit is beginning it's field year in January. The second half of January and the majority of February. March is clear of planned field time.

I have yet to actually start the SFL-TAP process. I am at the very beginning of it where you have to watch the video online.

If I start this process now will I be able to schedule everything for the month of March? I know some of the other portions of the transition process, such as the VA, have to be done closer to when I get out however I can do that while going to school or during the 17 or so days between when class ends and I take leave while clearing.

I will be staying in Washington so I don't have to worry about moving or anything of that nature. Already there haha.

Any tips or suggestions would be great. My NCO's are a bit lack luster when it comes to anything other than getting rank and everyone higher rank than them is trying to get me to reenlist. To the point that it's becoming harassment actually. So I'm given minimal information. Will I have the time for SFL-TAP? 2018-12-23T02:01:48-05:00 SPC Private RallyPoint Member 4229079

Some information first. I have 90.5 ETS leave days. Bear in mind that I say "should" as appointments are on first available slot. For me, the longest part was getting those videos completed and then getting those forms filled out. While my unit was DEMOBing at FT Hood, there were several Soldiers in my unit that had to complete all of SFL-TAP at Hood, and they were able to complete all the required classes and workshops in a little over a week. So, the possibility is there.

The best tips I can give is once you start, don't slack on it as some of those forms you have to fill out are pretty in depth and time consuming. Ensure that if there is ever a time you have issues or questions, do not hesitate to reach out to your counselor that you will be assigned when you are done with the videos and call in for the first time. If you have any other questions, let me know.
