Will I have to go to AIT again after getting out a year ago?

Got out a year ago and re-enlisting very soon. What to expect as a prior 88M? Will I get the same MOS? If so will I have to go back to AIT?

If you get a whole new MOS, then yes you will go to AIT again. But you will go as an MOS-T and be put on Prior Service Status while in AIT and afforded better/more privileges.

Your prior MOS doesn't necessarily mean that's what you'll sign on for. Generally speaking the Army could always use 88Ms, but you'll get it if that MOS is available at MEPS when you go for your contract. If it isn't, and you don't want to wait around for the MOS to become open, you can pick another that's available and you qualify for. In that case you will need to go to AIT.

If you’re going back as the same mos you had then no. If you’re going back with a different mos then yes. At least it’s just ait and not basic again.
