As long as you complete training and are assigned to an Airborne unit you will receive your bonus. Re enlisted as a SPC (P) got promoted to E5 and had my orders cancelled for Hawaii due to me re enlisting as a 10 level. Once you become promotable you are only able to slot for a 20 level. I managed to get a 20 level slot back for Hawaii however I was extremely close to having to be needs of the army. I had a 5k bonus and I didn’t have to pay any of it back. Career counselors say it shouldn’t happen but it happened to me. Take my advice if you have enough time in your window then get promoted and then re enlist. If I knew then what I know now I’d have waited too. Good luck man. It lays out exactly what happens to your bonus if the terms of the addendum are not fulfilled. I doubt getting promoted is a recoupable scenario.
