It's hard enough to maintain unit cohesion with excused absences and make up training as leaders try to balance Soldier's civilian work with military needs. But now a Soldier can miss 7 full weekends before separation? The army wants to create ready force operational reserve units. Kind of hard to do if this is allowed. It's starting to get to the point that unless someone really cares about retirement benefits, then good years don't matter any more. 1SG Private RallyPoint Member Wed, 18 Apr 2018 00:54:49 -0400 2018-04-18T00:54:49-04:00 Response by SGT Private RallyPoint Member made Apr 18 at 2018 2:25 AM https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/will-it-benefit-the-usar-to-allow-unsat-soldiers-to-accumulate-28-unexcused-absence-before-separation-actions-can-being-initiated?n=3553886&urlhash=3553886

SSG,Do you have a link to the policy?I cannot find it. When he/she doesn’t show, initiate process for discharge. I don’t know how the Reserves do it, but in the Guard, no show for AT is the quickest way to discharge. I did it because I didn’t want to wait for three months to discharge someone who didn’t want to be in anymore. Basically, taking off two drills a year - because you can only get 4 U's in a single weekend, even if it is a MUTA 5 or 6 - in order to dodge BAs that they find they wish to avoid, such as an FTX, SRP, or APFT.
The amount of vagrancy possible with 28 U's is 7 MONTHS of drills, meaning a turd would only have to show up half the time and be safe from getting tossed out.
No thanks.
I am sure that the notion is to retain a guy that we've paid to train in case of war, but does anyone think this guy would show up if a call-up happened? How useful (or useless) would such a Soldier be?
Not only that, but in terms of practical execution, you would use up a ton of administrative resources documenting all of that in order to process an UNSAT discharge... all time and effort spent on a useless oxygen thief.
I would be curious to hear a senior leader's thoughts on this policy. 1SG Private RallyPoint Member Wed, 18 Apr 2018 08:55:19 -0400 2018-04-18T08:55:19-04:00 Response by SGM Bill Frazer made Apr 18 at 2018 9:52 PM https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/will-it-benefit-the-usar-to-allow-unsat-soldiers-to-accumulate-28-unexcused-absence-before-separation-actions-can-being-initiated?n=3556930&urlhash=3556930

It is flippin sad, that is what it is, at least for the CoC SGM Bill Frazer Wed, 18 Apr 2018 21:52:38 -0400 2018-04-18T21:52:38-04:00 Response by SSG Private RallyPoint Member made Apr 26 at 2018 8:14 AM https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/will-it-benefit-the-usar-to-allow-unsat-soldiers-to-accumulate-28-unexcused-absence-before-separation-actions-can-being-initiated?n=3578222&urlhash=3578222

Where I can I get a copy /
(Duplicate post / found proceedings to find it on same board SSG Private RallyPoint Member Thu, 26 Apr 2018 08:14:52 -0400 2018-04-26T08:14:52-04:00 Response by SSG Private RallyPoint Member made Apr 26 at 2018 8:16 AM https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/will-it-benefit-the-usar-to-allow-unsat-soldiers-to-accumulate-28-unexcused-absence-before-separation-actions-can-being-initiated?n=3578232&urlhash=3578232

I'm on G-1 Web Page I don't see d' OPORD.
Can I have someone email ( [login to see] ) it to me or get it posted here?
