Will my BAH rate remain "grandfathered" at the higher rate if I remain in the same city?

BAH for Oahu dropped nearly $600 a month, however those who were receiving the higher rate were "grandfathered" and kept the same rate. I will be PCSing to another command on Oahu with the same VHA Zip code for LES purposes. Will I continue getting the higher BAH rate since I am not technically moving out of the area? My spouse is remaining here as well.

Yes, your BAh will remain at the higher rate. It went down 40 here where I'm at in Va, and mine stayed the same

It will stay the same for as long as you are stationed in that zip code. It can only change if you PCS from there and back if has lowered in that time.

*UPDATES* Just got back from talking with PSD - according to them, the current BAH rate is applied to the service member when they check into their next command - even if it's in the same zip code. they informed me that though I am currently grandfathered at this command, once I check into my next command, the rate will be adjusted to whatever it is at that time. - Dependents do not affect this rate as they are technically "PCSing" with you. Wonder if I can claim that my Dependent is not "PCSing" with me.. Thoughts?
