Will prior service CBRN experience be usable when trying to become an Army CBRN Warrant Officer? https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/will-prior-service-cbrn-experience-be-usable-when-trying-to-become-an-army-cbrn-warrant-officer

I just recently did an interservice transfer after 10yrs from the Marine Corps to the Army as a SGT/E5. I was CBRN the whole time I was in the Marine Corps and I am now CBRN in the Army. my time in service and time in grade have been backdated to what it was in my prior service, so I will soon get my promotable status for E6. my goal in the Marine Corps and now in the army is to be a CBRN warrant officer. All of the leadership positions that are recommended and required for Army CBRN Warrant officers I have done in the Marine Corps as a sergeant E5. My question is since I was prior CBRN in the Marine Corps will I be able to use that MOS time and experience in a Warren officer package in the Army? I'd say you're definitely competitive for CBRN Warrant MSG Private RallyPoint Member Tue, 25 Feb 2020 17:59:13 -0500 2020-02-25T17:59:13-05:00 Response by SFC Private RallyPoint Member made Feb 25 at 2020 7:32 PM https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/will-prior-service-cbrn-experience-be-usable-when-trying-to-become-an-army-cbrn-warrant-officer?n=5599817&urlhash=5599817

You'll need to attend ALC for your MOS first and then you can compete for it. The first few CBRN warrant classes were taught by the Marine CBRN WO program. But they have been really strict with the requiements: See if you can contact the CBRN Corps at FLW

I can tell you (after 3 tries) that they are very selective. At least they were because as the new kid on the block they wanted to start off on a high note.

o Be a SSG (E-6) or above and a graduate from MOS 74D BNCOC (NOT waiverable).
o Hold MOS 74D with a minimum of five years' experience in the MOS. Recruiter, Drill Sergeant and other nontechnical duties are not considered MOS experience.
o Have a base line score of 100 for the ST.
o Have one year documented Squad Leader experience in a Chemical Squad or one year documented experience as a CBRN NCO at battalion level or higher.
o Provide OPMF hard copies (last 10 years of NCOERs and AERs [1059s] in order, newest to oldest). The majority of your NCOERs must reflect outstanding and exceptional duty performance ratings noted with "Among the Best" ratings by the rater and "Successful" and "Superior" ratings by the Senior Rater. Applicant must provide one NCOER as an SSG. 1SG Private RallyPoint Member Wed, 26 Feb 2020 01:36:09 -0500 2020-02-26T01:36:09-05:00 Response by WO1 Private RallyPoint Member made May 16 at 2020 1:59 PM https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/will-prior-service-cbrn-experience-be-usable-when-trying-to-become-an-army-cbrn-warrant-officer?n=5897752&urlhash=5897752

Hello,

I have worked with quite a few different CBRN warrants during my time in Korea in a technical escort unit. I even had two of them help me With my warrant packet (153A) and I must say their experience levels and resumes were quite impressive especially since they are technicians. I’m not sure how competitive you are or are not but since it is a relatively new field (the CBRN warrant position) if selected their is nothing but huge potential regarding promotions and filling slots above your current Pay grade!

However, the three I remember speaking with in particular about it my their former rank before commissioning were all E-7s.

Good luck!
