Hell I think anyone even an Old Jarhead would help Trump because nobody has negatives like he has.

It'll help, but Trump needs to make it at least appear that Pence's opinions matter, and acknowledge what he brings to the table... and that may be difficult, for a certifiable ego maniac

Gov. Pence may help Trump, the real question is how will Trump take to him being he right hand man and how involved or how will Pence's camp work with Trump's camp (the children)?

In my opinion, Pence would shut down many questions about him being a Republican. Setting things up for the next eight years.

8. He's long been viewed as a potential presidential candidate
In 2010, conservative activists at a Values Voter Summit voted Pence their top choice for a 2012 presidential candidate, a key test of grassroots support (but not one that's necessarily indicative of success). Interestingly, Pence's 2016 veep competition, former House Speaker Newt Gingrich was also on that straw poll and came in fourth.
Pence's name was floated in 2008 too as a potential presidential contender. Pence decided to stay in Indiana and run for governor, where he eeked out a win against Gregg.

I think a VP can help or hurt a Nominee for President.. Both Sarah Palin and John Edwards didn't do much to help their Nominees and I would argue Sarah Palin cost John McCain votes as well as John Edwards who was in bed with his mistress too much instead of campaigning for John Kerry. Everyone in Washington DC and North Carolina knew John Edwards was a POS...IMHO
