Iran actually aligns more w/ them on their religious beliefs (Sunni vs Shia). Turkey is publicly forced to do something against ISIS/L due to the barbarity of their actions, however, they share a 'common enemy' - the Kurds.<br /><br />I honestly think they are following battles fought by the Ottoman Empire. They plan on annexing Turkey &amp; using it as a gateway into Europe. They also appear to be building towards trying to get another door into Europe via Spain (the Moors).
