Dozens of court cases have ruled against Trump’s claim that he won re-election. Not only does he continue with what is now called “the big lie,” but a “segment of the MAGA faithful … [and] 30% of Republicans” * believe he will return to the White House in August. Anyone with a passing understanding of the Constitution will realize this is impossible; however, no one foresaw the events of January 6. What will happen if his most ardent supporters resort to violence again?

* “There is talk out there by a certain segment of the MAGA faithful, they truly believe you're going to be somehow reinstated in August. There's actually a Morning Consult poll that say 30% of American, or excuse me, 30% of Republicans, actually think that as well.” Excerpt from 'Water Cooler' interview transcript with President Trump by “Just the News” staff member Brody. https://justthenews.com/government/white-house/read-full-water-cooler-interview-president-trump-here

I don't think he's ever said it. QAnon has said it and there were posts of him liking those suggestions, or some such thing. But I don't think he's ever explicitly said it

Plus, Jan 6 had a forcing function. Congress was meeting to certify the election. The election is done now, there's nothing more to it. There is nothing special happening in August that would draw people together with a desperation

SFC (Join to see) I was not able to find Trump stating on the record that he will be reinstated in August. I also was not able to find anyone who admitted on the record that Trump said he will be reinstated. Therefore, I edited my question and included a link to a website with the transcript of an interview published by a conservative media outlet.

SFC Kathy Pepper - I believe that it is only Donald's illusion as he hates to lose which he has done so many times before. He filed for corporate bankruptcy 6 X. And now the Donald Org. is being criminally investigated.

"he says he will return to the White House in August" SFC Kathy Pepper can you link us to even a single voice or video clip of President Trump making this claim? Or a Peer-reviewed no bias source of a specific cite from the Former president having said this statement?

Hey SGM, does it really matter whether he said it or not? He has clearly said many times that he won the election . . . He has told this "Big Lie" from election night until today . . . Would U like us to find U "even a single voice or video clip of President Trump making this claim?" . . . I'll be glad to . . .

In true leftist fashion, if it’s repeated often enough it must be true.

He implied it when he was asked, in an interview, if he expected to be reinstated in August . . . Said something like, "It's up to the people" . . . So he 1) didn't deny it, 2) left the door open to it, and 3) arguably encouraged his followers to make it happen . . . U can nit-pick on whether he actually said the words if U like . . . But those of US who have paid attention to his copious lies for the last four years (and beyond to his "Birther" bullshit) know exactly what he meant . . . But, hey, if it makes U feel better to hang his defense on a technicality, have at it . . . It is, as they say, a free Country . . . For now, at least . . .

Kathy,
I conduct clinical research about the roots of the MEGA MAGA Illusion. Much of my work is published on Research Gate. We can trace the roots of the above in the US going all the way back to 4 Centuries. See, for instance, Nancy Isenberg's perspective in "White Trash".

You offer a very cogent perspective!

OMG, SSG, sounds like important research! Might U know whether anyone is doing a similar look at the whole "anti-CRT" hysteria?

Also, there's a ResearchGate.com and ResearchGate.net . . . In which would we find your work?

SSgt Richard Kensinger I am also very interested in reading your research. Where can we find it?

I looked up "White Trash" and read the official book description. I was very interested in Nancy Isenberg's comment, “Poor whites were central to the rise of the Republican Party in the early nineteenth century….” From at least the 1960s, the Republican Party was known for wealthy, white men; partly because of Trump, it has reverted back to lower income people of all races. That concept has interested me greatly since he took office.
