Windows 8.1 computer waking from sleep

With a recent update to Windows 8.1, and another one to Norton 360, my computer keeps waking itself from Sleep and Hibernate.
I've tried all the obvious things like disabling Tasks in Task Scheduler, verifying that no devices are allowed to wake the computer, verifying that Wake on Lan is disabled in Bios, etc. No joy.
I sure could use some help from you windows experts...

I suggest letting others test a new OS before upgrading to it on your primary machine(s).
Oh, I also suggest Linux. . . because Linux.

Understood. I should've said included updates with my statement. I feel comfortable knowing linux OS updates have levels stating the level of trust and stability.
Many possibilities for the source of your problem as it could be a software or hardware related. A good place to start is with hardware. Go to the device manager Control Panel --> System and Security --> System --> Device Manager (over on the left). Right click on a device and select properties and check to see if there is a power management tab. If the Allow to wake is checked, uncheck it. Just remember what devices you did this for - or better yet do one at a time until you find the bandit. If its hardware you will need to check the activity log.
I am thinking a program is trying to run a scheduled function like an update. Even if your computer is asleep some programs will try to run in the background. First, I hate Norton. Next I would make sure all scheduled functions are off. A lot of programs try to automatically update. This might be it.

Let's not forget good old Windows Update KB3035583 which you can uninstall; with thanks to SGT Ben Crum

SGT Ben Crum - Damn. I just realize it is back running in my background again. Thanks for the heads up.

SGT Ben Crum - I am still on 8.1 and went to 10 on a another computer. It went horrible wrong and there was a driver conflict with charging it. I rolled it back and that didn't work. I had to reload windows and reinstall the factory drivers to fix it. I am not a fan of how W10 automatically updates itself. First, I don't want it trying to use bandwidth without my permission. I see it as a easy why to get hacked.

SGT Ben Crum - I think I am going to stay on 8.1. I just see the chance of being hack so much greater.
